Mary & James - Reconstruction Era, 1872

In 1872, with her siblings grown and few prospects left in Massachusetts, thirty-year-old Mary Woolman answers a newspaper advertisement that could change the course of her life forever. Seeking neither fairy-tale romance nor empty promises, she writes an honest, deeply personal letter to a Kansas farmer searching for a wife with "a steady heart." As two strangers begin a courtship through carefully penned words, they must decide whether trust, loyalty, and shared purpose can grow into something far greater than either expected.
